I no reason to believe my Ledbetter was in Illinois....however, can't pass up a chance that he might have been: Hal, you wrote of James Ledbetter. I have a James A. Ledbetter married to Seriena Pace. That is all I know of this man, execpt that a daughter of his, Myrtle Ann, married a John George Stevens in Alabama in 1886. She was a child bride. Apparent J.G. Stevens first saw her at age 5, and said she was so beautiful that he was gonna wait for her to grow up and marry her. Records indicate that she married at age of 13? J.G. Stevens was some 25 years older than she. Any Ledbetter experts out there that recognize this family?? God Bless, ear
