Santa Claus arrived early today when I opened my mail box and found an envelope from Elizabeth Wargel, Gallatin Co. Clerk. A few weeks ago I ordered 4 Marriage Licenses from her office and 3 of them were a shot in the dark. She sent me all 4! (These were all dated after 1900 and weren't in the online Marriage Index.) Now I have learned some missing maiden names and in one case the missing bride's name. I will post only one bride and groom tonight. Does anyone out there have these names? Thomas Jefferson Brummett (son of Elijah and Lavinia Viers Brummett and the brother of my grandfather)) was born in Cumberland Co. KY in 1879. On December 16, 1902, he married Minnie Shaffer (daughter of John Shaffer and Alice (?) Ffawk? Flarvle? Flawle? Both bride and groom gave Kentucky as their birthplace and Saline Mines, Gallatin Co. as their current residence. The marriage was performed by a Justice of the Peace in Saline Mines. Was Saline Mines a small town? Does any one have any of these names? Mary Ann Webber
