This is getting interesting.... is anyone researching CLAYTON? Well, if I am on the wrong track here.... maybe this will help someone else :-) I just found some letters of administration for the Clayton's I mentioned earlier. Here is what they say.....(I see no Keaton or Cayton). Minor heirs of Michael Clayton were: Mary, Thomas, Emma, Lutitia and Sina Jane. William W. Clayton was Guardian. 20 June 1850. Bond was set by: William W. Clayton, Robert Crenshaw, and John C. Mitchell. Lutitia not mentioned. 31 May 1850. Bond set in the estate of Minerva Clayton, deceased 25 April 1849. John C. Mitchel and Daniel M. Willis executed the bond on 1 July 1850 to have them discharged from their duties as administrator. Will of John Willis. children: John G. Willis, Hannah Clayton (wife of Francis M. Clayton), James Harrison Willis, Martha Ann Willis, Emer Willis. Signed, 21 June 1851. Will of Mary S. MaHoney. Bequeath's to her adopted son, John Curtain. 6 Aug 1852. She left her farm known as the "Willis Farm". John Curtin died 15 feb 1853. Administrator was Milton Bartley.
