    3. Well I guess it's my turn.... pretty please :-) Since I am finding NO references to my KEATON line in Saline Co (except for a 1 later descendant dyeing in 1855), and I find a couple reference in Equality and Shawneetown for a couple early ones..... Could you please lookup Keaton/Keeton/Keeting/Cayton/Clayton.... this name it driving me nuts! and I have to believe that this family first landed in today's present area of Gallatin... somewhere! Does anyone have access to the microfilm for the 1830 census? The published book has on page 12, #270 for Equality Twp., William CLEATON !! I need to know if this "CL" could possibly be a "K". There was a Cpl. William KEATON, who was in the Blackhawk war of 1830/31. We have a younger William Keaton born abt. 1830 who died in Saline county 1855. He also owned 40 acres there. Believe this younger William had a brother Cornelius b. 1830, and a sister Nancy b. 1826, my 3rd great. This family was from TN, somewhere. I can find no other references to this name in Saline after 1847 (or before), so this leads me to believe they were either in the Gallatin area, or, these younger ones migrated from TN just before Nancy's marriage to Thomas J. MACE, to Saline Area. In the 1840 census, I find a Sarah KEATON, 40 to 50 yrs old in Curran Twp. (Saline Co) who could be the mother of the younger children. In the same census (1830), there is in Shawneetown Twp., a John CAYTON. Now, in the 1830, the oldest female in William's house was 40-50, and in John's 30-40. BUT, in the 1840 census there is a William CLAYTON Sr. and a William CLAYTON Jr. in Equality Twp. Senior is 50- 60 yrs old wife same age!! This WOULD fit perfect, if I can prove there was a mistake on the last name!! HELP.... Best Regards, Trev
