    3. Trev, Have you seen the 1840 Gallatin Co. census, 1850 Saline Co. census and the Land grants? It looks like your Benjamin had a bunch of kids. There is a John in 1850 census, born in Kentucky. There was a very early Jones in a few miles south of Benjamin. (1819) The 1850 census shows young Benjamin had no land but Elizabeth 53 years old did. So.... the land purchased by Benjamin in 1839 and 1842 must have been the elder before he died. The location of 7S 5E which is in Tate Twp, is closer to McLeansboro than Shaneetown. They could have leaned toward Hamilton Co for business. I checked Greenberry Jones (easier than William or John) and found he married in Hamilton Co. A look for a Hamilton Co Cemetery might be helpful.
