Bea......did I ever get around to sending you that census stuff on the Greers outta Oglethorpe and Greene county Georgia? So much as gone on, so much time has passed, I am lost in what and whom I owe what! Sure wish that William Greer was a brother to my Francis Marion! (I still think I have it, just lack the proof.) [I believe, note believe, that Abraham, son of Asa, is the one that married Peggy (Margaret) Kinney in Tenn., then had a son, William in Tenn. 1826, moved to Galletin co. Ills, and had Francis Marion in 1830...for the "family" only to return in 1834 to Tenn. and then in 1848 to LA. As they appear minus a male head of house, it would indicate he had died. I did find a listing for a man with last name of Kinney buying land in the same general area that this Greer family is found in the 1850 census, and he bought that land in 1848.] (This would be my mother's line of Greer...I know my father's line.)
