Jesse H. Kanady did have a first cousin Hester A. Kanady (b. 1842) who married 1865 (3rd wife) John A. Callicott who was a Lt. Col. of the 28th Vol. Ill. Infantry in the just finished Civil War and about to become mayor of Shawneetown -- maybe a namesake. George Washington Kanady who married (1875) Sarah Elender Bruce was the next older brother of Samuel E. Kanady; and my records show that it is he, Samuel E. Kanady, who marries Nancy J. Bruce 1 Apr 1883. I'd be interested to know where you find a C. T. Kanady. Is Nancy Jane the "Janice" Bruce as listed in the 1880 census, age 20? How are Robert Marshall Bruce and Alexander E.
