    2. Hi Nancy, Shawneetown is now "Old Shawneetown," but most of the population was moved inland 5 miles to a "new" Shawneetown, the Gallatin county seat. The 1937 flood, the latest of several over time, finally did her in. The levies were built but too late to save the old town. Don't know how many people still live there. Don't know of your ancestors either. Someone else may contribute there. The 1830s-40s is when my Morris ancestors came into Gallatin County, but at Eldorado, in Saline County since Gallatin was split in 1847. Good luck, Ernie Heltsley/Tucson
