    2. Hi, Does anyone have any information on the parents of Margaret Ella Jones. Their names are S.M. Jones and Mary Burroughs. Margaret Ella Jones was born about 1873. She married my g-grandfather, Henry T. Koster, on March 31, 1892. Does anyone know what her father's initials, S.M., are short for? Thank you, Larry Koster

    1. Sherman Holt - WWI veteran
    2. Jon Musgrave
    3. Hello, Have another inquery I'm forwarding to the list. This time it's about a World War I veteran named Sherman Holt. Below is the letter from Patrick Lernout who is apparently writing a book on the WWI veterans buried at the Flanders Field military cemetery in Belgium. If anyone has information please respond to the list as well as directly to Patrick. Sincerely, Jon Musgrave www.IllinoisHistory.com First of all, I want to apologize for my bad English. I found your e-mail on the web. My name is Patrick Lernout. I live in Waregem-Belgium at about one mile from the US Flanders Field military cemetery. As I am interested in the history of World War 1, it's only normal that this cemetery has my special attention. I started to write a book about the soldiers buried here. So I am looking for as much information about all those men. I think that would be a great tribute for them, who gave their lives for the freedom of our country. In the cemetery is one soldier called Sherman Holt. He was from Onarga, Gallatin county and was killed in action November 1 1918. Should you have information about him or some history, addresses, photo etc . ? Can I ask, that if you can not help me, perhaps you know some one who could and give him this mail ? Thank you very much in advance Patrick Lernout Drafstraat 15 8790 WAREGEM BELGIUM Tel/fax: +32 (= prefix Belgium) 56.61.33.41 e-mail: patrick.lernout@pandora.be"

    1. Confederate veterans buried in Illinois
    2. Jon Musgrave
    3. Hello, Over the Christmas holidays I received a query from Gale Red who is the Commander for the Illinois Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans. He is trying to find and identify all the known graves of Confederate veterans buried in Illinois. Red is writing to find out if any are buried in southeastern Illinois. I'm pretty certain there are some, but none come to mind immediately. If anyone knows of any please e-mail the list, or me privately, and I'll forward it to Gale. Sincerely, Jon Musgrave www.IllinoisHistory.com

    3. Kenneth, The Handbook is finally finished, proofread, and the cover designed. I have to do the inside flaps of the dust jackets tomorrow and it will be ready to send off. Obviously, it was supposed to be done a few months ago. When I advertised for pre-orders I thought I would have time to finish everything up in a few weeks. Shawnee Community College called and interrupted my mines with an offer to teach. Once the files are shipped to the publisher I've been told it will take 6 to 8 weeks, depending in part on whether I did everything correct or not. As soon as I hear something I will e-mail the lists and everyone who pre-ordered where I have their e-mail. I again apologize for the delay. I understand if anyone would like a refund. I will be happy to do so. Sincerely, Jon Musgrave www.IllinoisHistory.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kenneth L. 1. Jordan Sullivanm Sarah E. Rodgers, John A. Sullivan and his wife or wives Elliza and or Nora
    2. Beth & Mike Sullivan
    3. I am helping to research these families for my husband. We have found alot of information on them with the help of a kind genealogical soul in Illinois. But still have a few questions. 1. John A. Sullivan was married to Eliza or Liza Mahan. They were my husbands great grandparents. However, in the obituary for John A published in Eldorado in 1931 it say he was survived by his wife Nora. The family knows nothing of him having a wife named Nora. Also in the obit it says he died at his home at 817 Dewey. Assumed Street but in 1930 Census no Sullivan's at this address. John Webb was the family name listed for this address in the 1930 census. Is there a Dewey Road in the area or does anyone have a Nora married to a Sullivan or would anyone have access to a 1931 directory that might list info on John A. Sullivan and his family? 2. Jordan Sullivan was married to Sarah E. Rodgers in 1878. Convicted of murder in Shawneetown in 1896 and sentenced to 15-20 yrs in prison. Sought a Pardon in 1898 according to newspaper article. Was killed after he fell off the big 4 train coming into Equality while he was returning from sanitarium in Harrisburg in the company of Dr. Turner. Anyone with info on this Dr. Turner or the sanitarium in Harrisburg or real long shot anyone who has a family member murdered in 1896 by Jordan Sullivan please get in touch with me. Sorry this is so long winded but what the heck. Happy New Year All Beth Sullivan PS. I am in NE Georgia any one needing help in the Jackson, Banks, Athens-Clarke County area of Georgia drop me a line. I have access to the large new genealogy room just opened in the local public library. I have been helping catalog all of the available stuff. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gary and Jan Hall" <gjhall@shawneelink.net> To: <ILGALLAT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 03, 2003 7:24 PM Subject: Thompson Family > Since you are trying to get this list going I was wondering if there was anyone out there looking into the Neil Thompson family? 3. Liesa, There is a Little Wabash River mostly in White County, which empties into the big Wabash River right near New Haven in Gallatin. There is/was also a Little Wabash Primitive Baptist church, which was on the highway (IL 14) between Crossville and New Harmony. It was torn down in the 1990s. I did a quick search of the cemetery book for Little Wabash, which is in Phillips Township, and didn't see any Mull's or Christian's. I did not have an index so they might be elsewhere. There could be an obit in one of the Carmi or Grayville newspapers, all that is hit and miss. Hope this helps a little, Cindy genfun101@cs.com wrote: > > Can anyone tell me what county the Little Wabash would have been in, in the early 1900s (1900-1910ish).
