This morning I picked up on your request as I saw the one from Nov. and Dec. 2, and I have been looking for Joseph and Daniel for the last few hours in the census and marriage books of White and Gallatin Co's. I am not finding much but will get back to you later today. I think her last name was Bullup. I notices a couple of e-mail messages froom [email protected] and [email protected] talking about PRUETT. First of all What is the proper spelling in common use today? Is it Pruit, Pruett, Prewitt? Help! I have recently found A MRS. Sarah LEDBETTER that showed up in the 1820 Galatin Co, Il Census. I believe that this Sarah Ledbetter was the wife of a James Ledbetter who is the father of John Ledbetter b 1806 who married Elizabeth H. Wright on 10 April 1828 in Gallatin Co, IL. Apparently James Ledbetter died between 1818-1820 in Gallatin Co, Illinois. I also found a marriage record for a Sarah LEDBETTER b 1780-1790 to a Jacob PRUETT b 1770-1780. It appears that sometime between 1820-1830, Jacob Prewitt's wife died and on 9 March 1829 MRS. Sarah Ledbetter married Jacob Prewitt in Gallatin Co, Illinois. I have found Jacob Prewitt listed in the Gallatin County Census 1820, 1830, 1840. In 1850, they are in Saline County. I have also found a marriage record for a Jacob Prewitt to a Agnes RICHEY in Greene County, Tennessee on 12 March 1877. Is this the same Jacob Prewitt who married while on his way to Illinois? Can anyone associated with the Gallatin Co, Illinois PRUETT/PREWITT line help on this? HELP! Hal Ledbetter [email protected] Livingston, Texas

Dave: Could you please see if there is a Minerva Recer listed in the cemetery books? She supposedly died in Shawneetown probably in the late 1870s. The surname was spelled various ways - Reser/Reeser/Reecer, etc. Thanks. Anyone researching Casteel in Gallatin Co.? I have Nancy Rosetta Casteel born in Shawneetown 1869. Would like to know more about her.

The Walter Bean I'm looking was born abt.1779 in Burke Co. N.C. and died abt. 1831-1871 in Gallatin Co. IL. He married Elizabeth McGaillard in NC.abt. 1810-1841 she died in IL too. He then maried Katherine Kimbro in 8/30/1838 in Jefferson Co. IL and they moved to Gallatin Co... IL. Bonnie
Wadene -- It has just occurred to me that Samuel Callicott's 2nd wife was also Rebecca, but she is not found in the Miner book#1. Hi Hal Re urs on Pruett. I don't really know the Pruett family. However, I know about the double shooting at Gibsonia in 1915. One of the men killed was James Pruett, and I have the Leavell Hill Cem record showing where J S Pruett was buried in 1915. There are some other Pruett's there. No other similar name. However, I believe that I do remember seeing the Prewitt name somewhere. Same? Could only guess. Bob Black
