Linda Do you know anyone from the Hamilton Co list who is researching that name? There is a man from that list that is researching them, and I remember he answered a query from someone, and it seems like he was saying the earliest Trammell settlers were brothers... his line went to Hamilton county, and it seems like he said another line settled in Gallatin, and some in Saline. Seems like he mentioned a Trammel family book also, but not sure. I do know he was well versed in these families. Best Regards, Trev

This is probly true, but what it didn't say is.... If you invent a certain program, or format, to "present" this material, that program or format is under copyright. You can use the information that is under public domain, but you can't use the format without permission, i.e. the "Family Tree Maker Viewer" that is built into Family Tree Maker, used to present various records. 3. Hi Dave, just found a Henry and Richard Starke who enlisted in the Mexican war from Virginia. I believe they may be my Hugh whom I have been searching but won't know till I send for papers from Va. Library. Don't know of any other way to get the names from the rosters. Did any Starkes show up in the Miner book? All my other papers show his name spelled Starkey. Thanks and wish me luck, Roslyn

    1. [ILGALLAT] Re: Rice
    2. Trev YES, Edmund's m2 was an Elizabeth Rice b 1793 Tenn. Don't know where when etc. BELIEVED to be out of Maury Co Tenn, but no one has ever stated anything. ALL of my gen2 (currently anyway !) Baker line m people from Tenn. I figured that they probably were in the Maury Co area, since Ed spent a few years there. His m1 was Saley (Sally?) Thorn of Richmond Co NC. (ALSO a line that no one wants to claim!!). I was sent a Rice tree that showed Samuel Moore as s/o Allen Floyd Rice + Martha Patsy Rice. But we all seem to dispute it and can get no response from the person it came from. Martha being part of the Ebenezer Rice line from Vermont. I figure his m1 d btw 1810-1815. m2 btw 1810 - 1815. Probably closer to 1815. So I guess the best thing to do is ask ANYBODY KNOW WHERE IN TENN THEY HAD WADDLE, STRICKLIN, DONAHUE, GULLEGE, RICE, BAKER ????????? An inquiring mind wants to know !! besides, it would get me OUT of Illinois mailing lists !! snicker. best, steve

    3. This came from another list and I thought you might be interested. Phyllis Here is something of interest to maybe a few persons lately in regards to the posting of marraiges to the list. Here is a statements for the US Copyright Offices What does copyright protect? Copyright, a form of intellectual property law, protects original works of authorship including literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software and architecture. Copyright does not protect facts, ideas, systems, or methods of operation, although it may protect the way these things are expressed. You, Genealogy, and Copyright The copyright laws affect both the research and the publication of your genealogy, either a narrative family history or a simple pedigree family line. First, though, consider that the basic facts about your ancestor's life (such as name, birth date and place, marriage partner, date and place, and death date and place) do not receive copyright protection, no matter their source. Whether you went to the county courthouse, rented a microfilm of the relevant records, or found the data in a commercial CD-ROM, the basic facts of a person's life may be freely copied; they are in the public domain. ============================= Free Web space. 1. [ILGALLAT] ANDERSON SEAT
    2. David Schichner
    3. Hello Sandra, Welcome to Southern Illinois. Is this your family?? I suspect there is a connect between the Seat family in Davidson Co, Tenn and the folks in Wilson Co, Tenn. 1. There was earlier Anderson Seat in Wilson Co. TN - Anderson Seat married Unicy Mick on Aug. 24, 1819, Wilson Co, Ten 2. The Seat's in Saline Co, Illinois were from Wilson Co. TN 3. John, father of your Anderson, didn't stay in Illinois long as seen by the birth of his children. he could have came from Wilson Co. TN to Illinois and went back to Davidson Co, TN 4. There were also Seat's in Summner Co, TN. Many folks in Gallatin Co. came from Sumner. Seat, John born 1815 married Sarah born 1819, abt. 1835, in Davidson Co, Tenn. children all born in Tenn. except Anderson who was born in Illinois Alexander 1836 - this could be the Alex (24) in Gallatin census 1860, wife Bethena (21) but not for sure. Anderson 1837 John 1839 Serrild 1841 James 1842 Seat, Anderson born 1837, Illinois, married Mary or Mariah abt 1866 in Davidson Co, Tenn. Mary born 1849 in SC children born in Illinois Elizabeth 1867 Minnie 1869 born in Tenn. Mary 1871 Daisy 1873 Robert 1975 Pearl 1876 Lela 1877 Maude 17 Jul 1887, Davidson Co, Tenn More to come. Is this your Anderson? If so, which one of the kids is your line?
