Hi David: We Thank You so much for the information, I think you are right on with Chesley A. Williams. When we were in the Gallatin Co. clerks office, we did find a birth cert. Listing Alfred Williams & Arminto Kinsie as parents of a unnamed male child born on Mar 2, 1892. We have the CENSUS of Gallatin 1880, Which on page 17 show Williams, Chesley R. with a son Chestey A. age 10. I don't think these are the right ones. Thank You again Fred
Hope everyone is having a happy New Year!! Can anyone tell me where the Banks Cemetery is? James William Koster is supposed to be buried there along with his mother, my grandmother, Velva Prather Koster. Are there any other Prather or Koster buried there? Does anyone know what Frances Racine maiden name was? Thank you very much for your help. Larry Koster

Hello Fred, Alfred Williams is indeed Chesley A. Williams. Marriage record shows WILLIAMS, CHESLEY A. and MCKENZIE, ARTEMISA E. at Gallatin Co on 07/03/1883 book D, page 113. Burial at Hazel Ridge Cem. Williams, Alfred 1858-1916 wife Artemesia 1861-1940 1860 Gallatin Co census shows Chesley A, 1 yr old in house of Isaac B. 29, and Amanda E. 25, Williams. Siblings are William P. 6, Elizabeth A. 4, and Sarah L. 3. All listed as born in Illinois. Marriage record shows WILLIAMS, ISAAC B. and HEWITT, AMANDA E. at Gallatin Co. on 11/11/1852 book 2, page 167. There are two more marriages for an Isaac B. I have not seen any other Isaac B. so it could be the same person. Both in Gallatin Co. WILLIAMS, ISAAC B & SMITH, MARTHA J MRS on 12/22/1864, book A p 369 WILLIAMS, ISAAC B & GARRETT, MARY ANN MRS on 08/07/1870, book B, p 263 1870 Gallatin Co census shows I. B. Williams with no wife. Children are William P. 17, Elizabeth A. 14, Sarah J. 13, Chelby A. 11, and Addison 5. Note: If Isaac married Mrs. Martha Ann Smith in 1864, Addison might be her son and 1/2 brother to the others. 1880 Gallatin Co census - can't find anyone. Who Ever: My wife is a Williams, her Father was born in Gallatin Co. near Omaha. Approx. 1885- 1895. Elvis Bryant ( Pete ) Williams, his Father Alfred Williams, Mother Artemisa ( Mckinsey)? We sure would like to find out more about the Family. The Grand Parents are buried beside the Hazel Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church. We were there a year ago, but had very little time to research. If you could let us know of place to go for information, we would sure appreciate it. Fred
Thank you for your kind words. I don't know what to do with the landowner neighbors. It takes so long to load. I was over at the LDS research center and I mentioned it to there computer guy. He looked at the source and we found out it was much bigger than it should be. It's because of the way MS Excel handles the chart I guess. The other thing is the county line. My area is Omaha and Norris City. Those towns and areas are connected by many things. The county line went through my ggg grandfather's farm at one time. I don't like them on different pages. I see what you mean about Ira, he came out of nowhere and disappeared. I was also surprised at how many Ira's there were. My wife just came in with 5 videos. We're all set for Y2K, we're not leaving. Have a great New Year. Dave Schichner, What an excellent web site you have. I especially like the landowner neighbors, (even though I didn't find anybody). I found my two main names among your collateral lines - HUTCHINSON and WILLIAMS. Today, by the way, I just found my gg-grandmother Catherine WILLIAMS in Gallatin County in 1870 - at home with mom, her two sisters and a brother (I "guess" )I didn't know about. WILLAIMS Maria 61, NC Jemima 26, NC Margaret 23, TN Catherine 21, TN Andrew G. 18, TN Catherine married Ira HUTCHINSON in Gallatin County in December of 1870, but although I found some HUTCHINSONs in this county census I didn't find him and I can't quite connect them. Kathryne
Happy New Year all, Does any one have acess to a 1860 census of Gallatin Co. I am looking for information on this Family ALFRED COOK WIFE ELIZABETH and children OR COULD BE LISTED UNDER WIFE ELIZABETH COOK If found would like ages and names of children Thanks for any help you can give,, It is greatly appreciated Have a wonderful day Joyce
I'm not connected, I was just helping you. Sometime when I hit the brick wall, I just look for something I am not connected with to search for. A fresh view sometimes finds things that have been overlooked by the researcher. I have a friend that taught me that. When ever I get tired of working on something, I give it to him, and he me. It has paid off more than once. If you get board, take a look at my kin. I am in the midst of updating my report pages. http://www.jps.net/davepeg/ and go to genealogy. My big Gallatin co name is Quigley. My lost cause is Walden. Sorry you had the flu. I am prone to that and must be careful. I get the flu shot every year and the big "P" shot every 10 years now. Dave, Thanks for the addy for the census site. I have a feeling these Seat/Seats families are related, but don't know how. Planned to get back to you sooner. Had the flu! Ugh! The Anderson Seat in Wilson County, TN had us confused for awhile and there was a time we thought he was our Anderson's father. Now I think he was prehaps his Uncle or more likely his grandfather, maybe. Looks like there may have been 3 generations: Anderson>John>Anderson. Daisy, daughter of Anderson Seat (John's son) was my Great-grandmother. My mom remembers her, and we have pictures of her. Anderson married Mary A. Henry in Gallatin County in 1863. Lizzie was born in Illinois. They moved back to Tennessee when she was a small child. She told that she only ever had one store-bought doll, and it fell off the wagon when they were moving and broke and they left it behind! I'll do some more looking! This the most I have ever had on the Seats. Now wish I could find something on the Henrys! Thanks for all your help. Stay in touch, maybe I'll find something here that will help. How are you connected to this family?
