I want to thank everyone who responded to my query about doing research IN Fulton County. I received lots of good advice and have tried to look at all the web sites that were recommended to me. Fulton County sounds as if it's a beautiful, friendly place with good libraries, especially in Canton. I do have four more specific questions that I don't think were covered in the replies I received. (1) Are there probate records available separate from wills? (For example, estate records for those who died intestate) I've seen the book listing early wills for Fulton County. Unfortunately, the folks I'm looking for weren't listed in that book; but I know that they had property so I wonder if there might be other probate records. (2) Are there land records that are available? (3) Does anyone know what the dues are to join the Fulton County Genealogical Society? (4) Could someone explain the IRAD. I tried and tried this p.m. to research this on the web and found what seemed to be a hundred links that didn't work. One person suggested that traffic quadruples during the Spoon River Drive. >From what I read on the web, that event apparently occurs during the first two weeks of October. Am I correct about that? I really am thinking about a spring trip to Fulton County. And if you watched the NBC news tonight you can tell why it might be particularly appealing to me right now. Judy White Chugiak, Alaska
