    3. I'd love to exchange information -- and especially to receive new information -- about any of the WALLING family who were in Fulton county IL during the 19th century. As far as I can tell, there were two separate groupings of WALLINGs. (1) Family of Gabriel WALLING -- I've found references to Gabriel in histories of Fulton County. Gabriel & his family were there by 1830, but he didn't stay long. By 1840 Gabriel had gone on to Iowa. Gabriel had children: Jerome, Ebenezer, John R., Jesse, George Washington, Amy, Phebe, & Albert G. At the time of the 1850 census, son John R. & Ebenezer's widow Caroline Collins Walling were still in Fulton County. (2) However, the extended family in which I'm most interested is that of three brothers who came to Fulton County from Ashtabula County OH. The brothers were actually born in NJ and/or NY. They are described below. a) Lewis WALLING b c1798, m1 Cynthia PIERCE in OH, m2 Mary Jane GRIM COOK in IL; d 1880 in Fulton County. Lewis's children: Edward (Edwin?) b 1831 OH; Martha b 1836 IL; Eli b 1839 IL, d Civil War Bryant & Lewis who d as infants in IL; Peter b 1845 IL, m Clarinda NUTTER b) John WALLING b c1802, m Auralina MITCHELL; d 1878 in Fulton County John's children: Austin b 1832, m Mariam WARD; Ellen b 1833 OH; Mary b 1837 IL, m Thomas EDGAR Elizabeth Ann m David W.
