Searching for any information on deaths of these three people. Eli CHASE, my gg grandfather was "killed in the Galena Lead Mines" according to my information on 27 Jun 1828. He owned a farm in Fulton Co. and according to records I have been able to find had a "license" to mine in Jo Davies Co. His wife, Betsy MANCHESTER CHASE remarried on 16 Jun 1831 to John TAYLOR. They lived in Fulton County, and, I think she died there. I have hints that he may have died while on a trip to MO. Does anyone know where they might be buried or the dates of death? Was there a newspaper published in that area in the time frame of 1828 when Eli was "killed?" Some of the children of Eli and Betsy moved to Iowa, as did my g grandfather, Eli 2. He married Nance DAUGHERTY on 12 Sep 1841 in Fulton Co. Any help appreciated. Jeanne T. Lane
