We have a McCumber marriage in our line that I thought may be a connection to the inquiry made about a week ago. Jonathan Lock m. Claretta McCumber, Union Co. Ohio, June 9, 1831. This family shows up on the 1840 cencus in Fulton Co, ILL. Also living near or next to them were the heads of household, John, David, Nathan, Charles & Elihu McCumber. Jonathan dies in Fulton Co about 1848, and we have no idea what happened to Claretta or the children. On the 1850 cencus of the same county however, there are a couple of Lock chld living with other families. Could they be chld of Jonathan and Claretta??? Would love to hear from someone on this line.
