    1. New Illinois Statewide Marriage Index 1763-1900
    2. Hi Friends. I was raised in Farmington but moved away after HS in the 50's. I enjoy this site and all the info and tips. There is a new site (still "unofficial" for a short time) available on the Illinois State Archives homepage www.sos.state.il.us/depts/archives/arc-home.html Look under "Search Our Online Databases" for Illinois Marriage Index 1763-1900. This is a searchable database that you are encouraged to give a test run and report any problems you might experience. This Statewide Marriage Index has been "worked on for so many years by the ISGS, State Archives, and Secretary of State Information Systems Services Department. There are currently a little over one million records in the online database. Plans are to update the database every 6 months or so. Eighty-four counties are represented in the online database. Data entry is complete for 43 of those counties. Please check out the supplemental information that is reached by links on the introductory page and the search entry and search results pages." They also have information on how to obtain copies of marriage records from IRAD or county clerks. This site info originated from a Karl Moore at the Illinois State Archives. kmoore@ccgate.sos.state.il.us I tried this site last night and was delighted to find my paternal gr grandparents marriage date in Fulton County in 1880 and my father-in-law's parents marriage 1893 date in Cook County. I had better results by typing in only the last name and "Statewide" but I appreciated the easy access. Good Searching. Karen G
