Horace If it is on the soundex card it usally means not recorded. But if you look at the actual census rather than a card written by semi-literates 50 years later there are sometimes ditto marks that they didnt read. I havent seen it much on actual census but not related is possible although I have at least one instance where a sister of the head of household's wife and her husband are called boarders rather than sister-in-law so I take that with a grain of salt.
