Looking at the 1880 copy I have-In the lower left hand corner it states: 1880 census index Department of Commerce Bureau of the Census I do not have a copy of the original census. What does the term "nee" stand for after a name? Also, the term "sic"- ? I have an idea-but ... I have had those before!. Jan
