I am searching for relatives of my gg grandfather John WINKLER and Caroline MADANS/MADOUSE. John WINKLER was b. 17 Jan 1827 Bavaria, Germany [possibly Germersheim, Pfalz, Bayern].  He immigrated to the US in 1853 and settled in Fulton Co., IL. /   He married Caroline in Peoria, IL 28 Mar 1856 / Caroline was b. 28 Dec 1829, also in Germany.  She was listed MANDANS on the marriage license, but MADOUSE in son's funeral records.  Since I've found no one named MANDANS, I tend to go with MADOUSE /  Caroline d. 29 Sep 1896, bur. Cuba Cem. / John m. 2) Mary Catherine HOWERTER / John WINKLER d. 17 Feb 1924, bur. Cuba Cem. Anna WINKLER b. 20 May 1891, McDonough Co., IL.  1920 Census for Cass twp., Fulton Co., Illinois lists Anna M. H----, age 28, as daughter in the household of John M. WINKLER, Jr., and her daughter Gertrude H------.  Anna is listed as divorced. Anna m. Lee Edward GRAY 23 Sep 1920, s/o John D. GRAY & Alice Susan SHEETS .  Anna and Lee GRAY were the parents of John, Ruth, Virginia, Lewis Edward, & Marilyne Elaine GRAY.  Anna died 3 Jan 1962 / bur. Cuba Cem. 3.  Herman WINKLER b. 22 Apr 1862/3, Fulton Co., IL / m. Mary Margaret "Maggie" HENDERSON 12 Sep 1888, Fulton Co., IL, d/o Nathan "Whiskey Nate" HENDERSON / Herman d. 24 Jan 1936, bur. Cuba Cem. / Herman & Maggie were the parents of 1 dau. Avis WINKLER b. 4 Aug 1870, Fulton Co., IL. 4.  Anton WINKLER b. 17 Feb 1866, Cuba, Fulton, IL / d. 30 Jul 1896, Huntsville, AL / bur. Cuba Cem. / m. Cordelia "Cordie" Belva BISHOP 31 Jan 1891, Cuba, Fulton Co., IL / Anton & Cordie were the parents of 3 children:  1) Paulina Valliska WIMKER aka Pauline Juanita, b. 29 Sep 1892, Cuba, IL / m. Eugene Raiford RIVERS 23 Dec 1913, Mobile, AL /  2) Howard Widney WINKLER, b. 6 Sep 1894, Cuba, IL / m. Lillian Bird Apr 1916, Mobile, AL / 3) Lyle Anton WINKLER, b. 30 Sep 1896 Cuba, IL / m. Eugenia Reed DOWNER, Mobile, AL / Before his death Anton had moved his family to south Alabama, to where they returned ca. 1899.  Anton & Cordie were my great grandparents. 5. Mary WINKLER b. ca. 1868/9 / did not appear w/ fam. after 1870 census John Winkler came to the US with other members of his family.  He was the last survivor of that family, his last sister having died ca. 1921/22.  I do not have a name for this sister or any other family, just family stories that he came with other family and an article written when he was 95 which mentioned the sister's death.
