Thanks to a little help from my friends, I've come up with the following: Spencer Cooper and Martha Hilton Cooper Sheaf appeared in the 1860 Liverpool, Fulton Co. census -- Spencer living w/dau. Jemima & Johnathan Pollitt, and his 2 younger children Andrew & Mary; Martha living with her mother Betsey Hilton in Cuba. Then Spencer's son George was found with his sister Drucilla & Jacob Huffman again in Liverpool. Haven't found Eliza or Isabell Cooper. Now if Martha Hilton married this above Spencer Cooper in 1851 as I suspected, they must have divorced before she married George Sheaf in 1858. And what happened to George? He was no where to be found in 1860. Definitely, Polly Swearingen Cooper must have died before 1860. Were there 2 Spencer Coopers in Fulton Co. during that decade? Jeepers!! This crew keeps my head spinning. If anyone has access to Liverpool Cemetery or funeral home records, could you look for Mary/Polly (Swearingen) Cooper and George Sheaff. I know Jemima and Johnathan Pollitt were buried there. Maybe Spencer and Polly Cooper were buried there also. Thanks, Carol
