Dear Listers: I just received the long awaited Civil War Pension file from NARA. This reveals that Joseph H. Fitch died on March 29, 1893. He was married to Elizabeth Mann. Part of the application was for a minor child, Birdie Fitch. He was under 16 and "feeble minded". His guardian was Orsic Bennett; somehow related through marriage (which I have been unable to find). I am desperately trying to locate the parents of Joseph H. Fitch. Census records indicate he was born in 1836 in PA. Can anyone tell me if an obituary would be available or a death certificate for that time? I certainly could use some help on this one! I have been searching for some time. Thanks! Karen
