    3. I am looking for members of this band or any adult band it the area ca. 1890-1910. My question: Could you suggest where I may find info on the musical group ref. to below, or any musical groups in the Canton area, other than high school groups? A "google" search revealed nothing. ".... The Fifth Regiment band furnished the music, which was of the exceptionally high order that has made the organization the most famous in Central Illinois." "Canton Daily Register", Canton, IL., Thursday, December 20, 1900. Thanks to Kim at the Parlin-Ingersol library, I am posting the info below. "...the Parlin & Orendorff Company, Fifth Regiment Band. This band was active from 1891-1910. It was a band comprised of Parlin and Orendorff Plow Company employees and the local National Guard. According to the book, Reflections of Canton by Ed Lewis: "At the end of this era most of the members had reached a point when the rigors of military life were behind them, and they voted to withdraw from the Illinois National Guard, with the name of the band again being changed to Parlin & Orendorff Company Band, or more popularly, the "P & O Band. The P & O Band was the most popular band I have heard of during that time. Perhaps other musicians in the area might be able to give you more information. You might contact instructors at the Canton High School or the Ingersoll Middle School for names of musicians in the area that might have historical knowledge of the area" Thanks for any suggestions Jan
