Hi, I checked the "Fulton County Place Names; A-Z" and it gave this info under 'Troy': A deserted village formerly in Union Twp, founded in 1823 by Nathaniel Childs. Another book gives 1833 as the founding date. Also, there was a Troy School in Union Twp; land donated by the Troy family. Judi Goodwin
