I think the memories and social context of the area IS very much part of the genealogy. There are lots of time I am "bored" with the pure genealogy of any list because it often surname discussions that have nothing to do with my direct line, or even associates of my direct line, but the geography, places, customs, and "feel" of the place at least has some relevance to my people. Anyway, I think there is room for both discussions on the list--the pure vitals stats and the memories. Sarah
