Found on KS footsteps list Subject: [KS-FOOT] Death: McGEHEE; March 12, 1897; Jefferson.. The Oskaloosa Times Friday March 12, 1897 Hugh McGEHEE died at his home northwest of town yesterday morning of congestion of the bowels. He was born in Fulton, Illinois seventy-two years ago and came to this county in 1855. He was known to all the old settlers having bought his farm at the land sales at Ozawkie in ' 57; and was esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and seven children living.
