Hi-looking for Robert Covert family in Lewistown, Ill in 1860. I have Robert b abt 1834 and Mar to Martha both b. Trenton, New Jersey. They also had a daughter Ellen b. abt 1852 in New Jersey. They were in Lewistown Ill in August of 1862 when Robert enlisted at Peoria, Ill. Company "A"103rd regiment and was mustered out as Cpl.June 1865. The 1870 census shows Robert 40 Ellen 16 William 10 George 8 Charles 3 Harry 2. the 1880 census shows Elizabeth age 9. I would like to find out how come Martha -his wife wasn't on the census for 1870, but there is another child age 9 on the 1880 one. They lived on Collins. Charles was my grd father and died 1904 in Kansas on way to St. Louis to his family. Can anyone tell me what to search for and where? Thank you for any help .
