Just another note on the reminiscing.... I've found that reminiscing on the various lists I've subscribed to has been a good source of information about the area. This type of exchange has invariably led to discussion on families in the area. In some cases I've seen where a particular phrase someone's family used suddenly became clear or that someone learned of a heretofore unknown relationship. For anyone who is interested only in black and white genealogical facts, without the addition of colour, the option, of course, remains to delete thse messages without reading them. Gloria
I am new to this list. I live in Iowa , where it is snowing right now. But have enjoyed the reminiscing of everyone. I have never been there so it is kind of nice to know a little about the area and what it is like and what it use to be like. I also think that the stories of the family is as important as the data that we fine. Some of my Lopeman line comes from that area so it give me some idea of what it was like where they lived. It is also nice to read something besides just facts for a change since I do a lot of research for my self and other. So I just want to say thanks for the great stories.
