Tina and list- Yes, we have had such an incident in our family. The 'Trail or Heartley Cemetery' in Ellisville, sections 7 and 18. A family member had found a list of the burials, including the names Heartley, Jones, Wilson, and 2 of my Cain family. The note said "a bulldozer went through the center of the cemetery to put the fence in. Also, the hogs have torn it all up." Evidently, this should have been an historical site, as those who died 'on the trail' were buried there. Our Cain burials are dated 1845 and 1855. "Some old-timers say there were about 25 stones at one time." I don't know if the Historical Society has this one listed, either. So much for perpetual care. Cherilyn Trusty
