    3. List Members, I recently visited IL and copied this obit. She doesn't seem to fit into my family, but maybe this will help someone. LouAnn Cameron in NC Astoria Argus Mrs. Amanda Howe died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Hoffman, in Astoria, Nov. 3, after a short illness. Amanda Kinzer was born in Lancaster, Pa., March 16, 1834, moved to New Albany, Ind., when 10 years old and was there married to James Howe of Hardin Co., KY., Sept. 21, 1853, and to them were born 10 children, five of whom are living, Mrs. Lauvenia Hoffman of Astoria, Samuel Howe of Isabel tp., John Howe of New Albany, Ind., Miss Catherine Howe of Lewistown and Amos Howe of Kerton tp. One daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Hart died in 1903. Mr. Howe died May 6, 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Howe and their family came to Illinois in 1870, settling in Fulton county. They moved from their farm in Kerton tp. to Astoria in 1900. Mrs. Howe was born of Quaker parents, and she was Quaker, wearing the Quaker dress. She was a devoted mother. The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. Hoffman Thursday afternoon, Samuel Bucher of the Dunkard church read the scripture. The burial was in the Astoria cemetery beside the grave of her husband. The Argus-Search Light joins many friends in extended heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved sons and daughters.
