Mary Elizabeth Lain, 79, Kewanee, died March 2, 2006, in Kewanee, IL. She was born March 17, 1926 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of George Washington and Clarice Gladys (Benham) Ackerson. She married Carl Heller, son of William and Bertha (Oppy) Heller, Dec. 27, 1947. He died June 5, 1952. She married Dale Lain, Sr., son of Emmitt and Margaret (Rahn) Lain, March 9, 1954. He died Dec. 27, 2002. Survivers include daughters Carla (Mike) Finley, Venice, FL, and Barbara (Robbie) Kinsler, Decatur, IL; sons Charles (Sue) and Dale Lain, Kewanee; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Albert, Kewanee, Charles, Tennessee and William Ackerson , California and sister Carmen McIe of Cambridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gale Heller, brothers, George, Harold and Joseph Ackerson and sisters, Dorothea (Helms), Patricia (DeMuynck), Gladys (Gard) Grose, Nellie (Gard) Nelson, and Ruth (Gard) Dodge. Mary was a loving mother, grandma, aunt and friend to many. She loved to crochet, read and collect birds. She loved researching her genealogy and had been a member of: Ackerson-Eckerson Association, Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, Kittitas County Genealogical Society, Morgan County Chapter Ohio Genealogical Society, Henry County Genealogical Society, Fulton County Historical Genealogical Society, Mason County Genealogical and Historical Society. Visitation at 9 am Saturday, March 11, 2006, services at 10 am. at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial will be at Grand View Cemetery.
