My ancestor Josiah Stout died in Fulton county between 1860 and 1870 but I have never found his grave. Most members of his family are buried in Greenwood cemetery in Canton. His wife is buried there in a plot owned by Reuben Huff, and the stone reads "Ann-wife of Josiah Stout" with dates. Next to her grave is an "unmarked grave", according to the cemetery book. What exactly does that mean? Is someone buried there? Was the marker lost or destroyed? Was there never a marker? Was no record made of whomever was buried there? Maybe no-one is buried there?
