On the chance that researches besides me may not have heard about this site, I wanted to pass this address on that I just discovered. The Astoria South Fulton Argus has indexed all the obituaries that appeared in the paper from 1914 to the present. I don't know how I missed this earlier. They even have obits from people that have left the area, and list those that are being returned for burial. The website is www.kkspc.co/argus You can obtain copies of papers published in the past year from them. Now the question, is it possible to get copies from microfilm from teh Shuyler Co Jail Museum?
