While reviewing some information from Licking County, Ohio that I have at home, I realized many of the names familiar to me were not only from this list, but also from living in the surrounding areas near FC for many years. As I found evidence of several of my own ancstors living in this area, I thought I would pass it on. It comes from the book "History of Licking County, Ohio" .. author unknown. LICKING COUNTY, OHIO: Hopewell Townhip: 1816 and after Revs. James Quinn, J. McMahon, Martin Fate, Michael Ellis, Joseph Carper, Abner Goff, Thomas Snelson, Rev. Caves (Cave?), William Baker, Jesse Stith (Smith?), John Parker, and Daniel Schofield, Robert McCracken, Jacob Young, Leroy Swormstead, James B. Finley, C. Springer, and Samuel Hamilton among others were the first ministers and pioneer preachers. Other names found in this township during the same time are Landon Warfield, Adam Smith, David Drumm, James Redman, Samuel Winegarner, Thomas White, Isaac Smith, Henry Claybaugh, Lewis Ijams, William Tucker, Samuel B. Hull, Charles Howard, Joseph Evans, George Hursey, Moses Meek, Nathan Henslee, William Simms, S.R. Tucker, F.F. Dutton, L.A. Stevens, and William Hull. Bowling Green Township: 1804-1808 John Hamilton, Michael Thorn, Frederick Myers, Henry Neff, John Harris, Andrew Myers, William Harris, Moses Meeks, Adam and John Meyers and Charles Howard were settled here by 1804. Edward Taylor, William Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Jacob Storts, Henry Alexander, John Berry, Joseph McMullin, Rev. Levi Shinn, Nathan Shipps, Elijah Nichols, George Moyer, James Clark, Robert Orr, Landon Warfield, William Chapman, Samuel Parr, Henry Bickell, Alexander McClelland, Walter Roberts, ? Mervin, Willis Lake, Jacob and Adam Brown, William Harris, John Dickinson, Solomon Myers, the son of Andrew. Abraham Borin, Amos Kendall, ? Jones, H.S. Manion, Isaac Farmer, Samuel Pollock, Edward Hersey, John Bartholomew, Jacob Hummell, Thomas Hummell, Timothy Gard, Isaac Davis, John, Charles, George and Samuel B.
