I've been reading with interest the postings about the United Brethren Church and the graveyard located south of Astoria. Is this cemetery now called Oak Grove Cemetery? My 3rd g grandfather, LEWIS JENNINGS, is buried in that cemetery. I visited it two years ago and have been curious about the building located nearby. Could that building have been a school house....also used for church services of the UB Church? An obituary for Lewis does not exist....but did find on file (from the Fulton County Ledger newspaper dated January 17, 1884) the following: "Another of our old settlers has passed away, Grandpa Jennings, aged about 84 years. His funeral took place last Friday, and he was buried in the Johnson graveyard." Perhaps it was named for Alice's Rev. E. W. Johnson??? Anxious to see the photos that Barb has ...what a kind jesture to all of us. Warm regards, Dixie (Jennings) Greenwood
