I went back and did a little more checking on Hattie May WHEELER , her mother's death notice (Ellen Francis WHEELER d.1920 St. David. said her last name was JONES. It did not dawn on me to check the Thomas JOHNS who was living with Hattie WHEELER as raised children of Lydia JOHNSON., until after I sent the message to the list.. Oops! 1920 census Buckheart twp. JOHNS,Thomas 33 b. MO. Hattie 42 (wife) b. IL. Paul 8 son b.IL Lydia ?/12 da. b. IL. Lydia 73 wd. mo-in-law so just maybe JONES in the death notice should have been JOHNS..... hoping this is the correct information. son Paul JOHNS was b. about 1912 so estimating that Thomas JOHNS married Hattie about 1910 or 1911. Would someone mind looking for the marriage date? As much as I have worked on my family tree you would think I would have remembered that very often names are misprinted in obits and other records.... Ahhh! Another lesson learned(reminder)!
