    2. There is chance for error in all of our genealogical sources. As for obits, whether free or for a fee, there are plenty of chances. For one - can you imagine the typesetters on deadline day....how the fingers must have flown over those tiny lead letters and numerals getting ready for presses? Even today, Funeral Directors often get things mixed mixed up in their notes taken during interviews of the relative who is making arrangements. Where I live, that's where newspapers get the obit information. Death records are only as accurate as what the informant knew. Sometimes the informant guessed at information from what he/she had heard in the past. Census records and county histories are notorious for error. As someone on this List said yesterday....confirm the data with other sources. Consider what you read as good clues to further your research. Lyde
