    3. I know. You don't even have an iPod or clone. But read on. . You can go to the web site, click on it and listen right on your computer at that moment. You can save it and listen to it later on your computer. You can burn many of them to a CD and listen to it on a CD player -- the kind you listen to other music on in your music system or a portable -- that plays MP3. [Older ones might not.] You can save it to a flash drive and insert it into a small and inexpensive flash drive player to carry with you when you are jogging. Maybe you have a newer vehicle with a CD player that plays MP3 so you can read while stuck in traffic. Everyone has a way to listen to podcasts. Once you figure out the best way for you you'll find there are thousands of things you can listen to besides music. The Genealogy Guys, George Morgan and Drew Smith, create a podcast every week on genealogy. It's a 30 minute discussion. Morgan is the author of How to Do with Your Genealogy and he writes a column on Ancestry.com called "Along Those Lines." Smith is a librarian, author and lecturer. You can read a synopsis of each podcast and download only those of interest or you can download them all. I suggest the latter because, as we all know, the synopsis doesn't really cover everything that is the entire thing. www.genealogyguys.com

    2. If you reply "on list" you are sending the e-mail to _ILFULTON-L@rootsweb.com_ (mailto:ILFULTON-L@rootsweb.com) . If you reply "off list" you send it directly to the e-mail address of the person to whom you wish to reply. If you want to exchange personal info such as phone numbers, addresses, etc., you reply directly to the person to whom you wish to give this personal info, not to the list where it goes out to everyone. Most info can be shared "on list" because you never know when someone on the list will recognize something in your response. Then you have helped someone on the list or found someone else with whom to exchange info. Hope that explains it for you. I remember being new to the list myself. Very daunting at first. Carol

    3. Please share everything relating to Fulton County research with the list but do NOT share personal information of any kind or details about living people. This list is set to automatically reply to the list. Under normal circumstances your response will go to the list unless you specifically change it. However, some people set their email program to circumvent that and some email programs do it for them without their knowledge. It is ALWAYS best to check out what is in the TO box before hitting send. [Voice of experience here.] These lists can be a very useful tool for researchers if everyone responds on the list with research information. Cheryl Rothwell

    3. I believe that the Thomas Royal buried in Sangamon County is Sarah's FATHER, not her son. He is in fact the original Revolutionary War vet. He came west and some of his children went on to Portland Oregon as ministers and teachers. (More detail on that in a family bible). She married AnthonyStout with her father Thomas' permission back East. Anthony died in Ohio, and Sarah remarried Isaac Clark and had additional children. 3. Thank you. I think I have been confusing as well. Here's what the scoop is supposed to be: 1. Sarah Royal (daughter of Revolutionary War soldier Thomas Royal who was ultimately buried in Fulton County) married Anthony Stout. (I have the signed OK from Thomas Royal) 2. Sarah and Anthony had three children, one of whom was named Hannah Stout. 3. After Anthony died (in Ohio, the thing we can't prove except by family records), Sarah Royal Stout married Isaac Clark. 4. Hannah Stout, her daughter, married David Ward Clark. 5. I haven't figured out who the David and Sarah Fuller Clark are, but they aren't part of the line I'm trying to connect for the sake of DAR. Whew. All these Davids and Sarahs. Guess "Todd" and "Tiffany" weren't yet in vogue. ha ha Thanks for your correspondence. ---Marilyn ----- Original Message ----- From: <FamRSearch@aol.com> To: <ILFULTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 17, 2006 4:36 AM Subject: Re: [ILFULTON] Welcome > I do not think it is a problem with polygamy that was discontinued over 40 > years ago. 3. Only time for a second on this just now, but as I understand it Sarah Royal was Thomas Royal's daughter. He was the Revolutionary War soldier (who made it all the way to Sangamon County) I have his signed OK for her to marry Anthony Stout. After Anthony died, Sarah Royal Stout married Issac Clark, and her daughter Hannah married David Ward Clark. More later. ---Marilyn ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cheryl Rothwell" <historysleuth@gmail.com> To: <ILFULTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 17, 2006 9:47 AM Subject: Re: [ILFULTON] Welcome > I believe Anthony Stout died in 1817 in Ohio but I have not verified. > HANNAH Royal Stout married David Ward Clark, not Sarah Stout. 3. I edited the subject. Those Clarks are not connected to my Clarks. This particular line of Clarks were in fact prominent Methodists. Two of my direct ancestors were Methodists ministers -- one of them was sent to travel about before "locating" and went as far as Macomb. Others weren't ministers but started churches. I believe Isaac set up Methodist churches or worked with others setting them up in Fulton County. On the Stout line, one of Sarah Royal Stout [later Clark]'s sons, Thomas, died in Sangamon County. In 1911 anyway the DAR considered him a RW vet. http://www.cwcfamily.org/album.htm is one of the R. D. Clark letters on his ancestry including the Clarks and Stouts. Some of it is pure speculation but some of it stands up to modern verification. He was fairly prolific in the letter writing department. Cheryl Rothwell

    3. I believe Anthony Stout died in 1817 in Ohio but I have not verified. HANNAH Royal Stout married David Ward Clark, not Sarah Stout. Sarah Royal Stout, the widow, married Isaac Clark. I am confused on who David who married Sarah Fuller is. That's not Isaac's son David. He married Nancy Flowers. None of the others mentioned here had a son first name David and none married a Fuller that I am aware of. A later wife is always possible though. Since the Clarks tended to be named David and they liked to marry Sarahs I see why the DAR is confused. We have David Clark married Sarah Winans and produced a David Clark who married another Sarah Winans. Cheryl Rothwell
