Hi there.... I am looking for anyone that is researching the Totten family from Fulton County. I am interested in finding more informaion on Henry S. Totten. He was born Dec 28, 1822 in Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Londry June 13, 1848 in Fulton County. He died April 4, 1896 in Cuba, Fulton County. He is my third great grandfather. We can find him in 1850 in Smithfield and in 1870 living with Catherine and Sarah Totten in Cass township, Fulton County. He is living with two ladies who would appear to be his aunts. The ladies are both listed as "old maids". He is also a widower at that time. I am trying to locate him in 1860 but can not find any of them. They had the following children: Theodore P., John and Margaret. There may be other children as well. It is my guess that she died sometime between 1857-1870. The last child was born in 1857. All the children were born in Illinois. Thanks Cris --------------------------------- Get amazing travel prices for air and hotel in one click on Yahoo! FareChase
You might find a useful free spreadsheet here: http://www.censustools.com/ He has spreadsheets for all the federal censuses and more, also for cemeteries, passenger manifests, research, family groups. If you don't have a spreadsheet program [doesn't have to be uptodate] he has them in pdf -- not sure how that works out. Cheryl Rothwell
Hi, Linda. and THANKS for your efforts in attempting to locate my ggrandfather's burial place and time. There seems to be many errors in the data you sent, however. I can expound on them if you like. Again, THANKS. L.W. p.s. You probably won't get this e-mail as AOL and my ISP (MSN) are apparently having wars and AOL won't allow my e-mails to be sent through. If you should get this, please inform me of it. Thanks again. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mattie313@aol.com<mailto:Mattie313@aol.com> To: ILFULTON-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:ILFULTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 04, 2006 7:53 PM Subject: Re: [ILFULTON] George Davidson & Gillham From Herb Gillham's data base, I am sending the following parts of the info. Hi Dale, Check Rootsweb's World Connect. Someone else is researching Nehemiah Northrup & Elizabeth SHAW and perhaps they can shed light on your search. http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:1849815&id=I766 If you need further lookups, I would be glad to help. Karen
I am new to this list and would like to find out if anyone knows anything about a Nehemiah Northrup who married and Elizabeth Shaw on Jan. 28, 1841 in Fulton County, Illinois. I know that he bought land there because I found it on the BLM website. Thanks in advance for any information Dale in California

Danni, I did e-mail her also, but hoped someone on the list might be familiar with the particular monument. Carol
In looking at the cemetery photos on the Illinois Ancestors website, _http://www.illinoisancestors.org/fulton_ (http://www.illinoisancestors.org/fulton) , I found a photo taken at what appears to be the entrance of Cuba Cemetery showing a DeWitt monument. Since I'm not familiar with the cemetery and can not read the marker behind the monument, I was hoping someone could help me with identification of the specific DeWitt family in question. In the background I can see a red granite monument with a large ball on top which looks very much like a photo I have of my gg grandfather John Winkler's monument. He is buried in Section D. I was hoping that the DeWitt monument was that of Richard & Elizabeth Waddle Bishop DeWitt. Elizabeth's daughter Cordie Bishop married John Winkler's son Anton Winkler. Carol
Carol, Write to Janine, the hostess of Il. Ancestors and ask her. She is always willing to help and might already know as she is the one that took the pictures. Hi Ellen.. It sounds exciting and glad you are still on the scent.. I still wonder about her and what happened.. where do you suppose the Rombaugh / Rumbaugh comes in..? Hope that you and Don are doing great.. Talked to mam the other day and she said she had talked to you while Larry and Debbie were there.. that was great.. Keep me posted on your "grandma Ida May" search.. I am very interested.. I KNOW that eventually all the pieces will come together and perhaps we are going to find another part of her family and there will have been half brothers and sisters to your dad on her side.. just like there were before on grandad Benjamin's side.. just my gut feeling.. Thanks again..
