Working on the HEFFERN/HEFFREN line. Daniel and Ellen (Cronin): immigrated from Ireland late 1840's. They were married in Putnam County, Indiana. He was naturalized in Fulton County, Illinois in 1860. They had the following children: Ellen born 1853, James 1858, Thomas 1860, William 1862 (my direct ancestor), Mary A 1864, Frank 1866 and Hannah 1867. I have been able to trace everyone except Thomas and Hannah. I am looking for a death and burial for Daniel born 1825 in Ireland and also any information on Thomas and Hannah. He was still alive in 1887 from a court paper. Hannah and Thomas are not mentioned in this paper but all the other children are. Daniel's 2nd wife was also named Ellen, his first wife died in 1879 and is buried in St. Mary's cemetery. Also, have not been able to find the family on the census before 1870 in Fulton. Hi, I am responding to a couple of names on the Roll Call list. I have some information on the Purdy and Hammond families who lived in McDonough County. Some of same families may have also lived in Fulton County. Myrtle and Sylvia come from the same line of Elwell: Thomas Elwell b. 1751 and his wife, Elizabeth. Marsha The direct relationship goes to my Elwell line. Leslie Alvah Hammond, b. Oct. 27, 1875 married Myrtle M. Elwell. They had several children. Leslie's father was Samuel Duff Hammond. I have further information on the family is anyone is interested. Willard Ray Purdy, b. Dec. 15, 1880 married Sylvia Alice Elwell. They lived in McDonough County. They had several children. I lost Willard and Sylvia after the 1920 census. Willard's parents: Rodliff Purdy and Ina Alton.

My MOORE are from IN. I find them in Fulton County in the 1870 census. John H. MOORE(b 1838) & Mary E. MOORE (b 1848, dau of James & Sarah MOORE both b 1825) John's origins are still unknown. Related to Mary? I don't know yet. Mary was one of 5 or 7 children born to James & Sarah but the only one to live to adulthood. Leonard WHEELER was born abt 1822 in PA and was a cooper, he married Rachel b. abt 1828 in Ohio. Had a son John born in Centre, Fulton Co., IL in 1849. In 1850 living in Centre next to Harry WHEELER, also a cooper who was born in NY, abt 1799. Researching line of William P. Hammond, came to Fulton Co. from Tazewell Co. and Kentucky before that. I have most of his descendants, need ancestors.
