Hi again, Danni and all-- My Fulton County ancestor is Nathaniel Bordwine. My husband's distant aunt is Margaret Horick (abt 1798 PA - 1861 IL) whose husband was Gabriel BAUGHMAN (1791 VA - 1886 IL). They married in Richland County, Ohio, in 1818. Are Gabriel and Abraham brothers? Gabriel's parents were Abraham, (born 1756 VA) and Elizabeth Charlotte Sager (born 1766 VA or PA). The early Baughmans were from the German-speaking section of Switzerland. I got a lot of information from Charlotte Baughman in Canton. I'll be happy to send you what I have if you think it's the same family. His small holding can be seen on the 1871 Map of Buckheart Township - top row RHS. He appears in the 1860, 1870 & 1880 Censuses. I have no record of his death. He was born in Ulceby by Barton, Lincolnshire, England in 1807. In the 1880 Census a family of Havercroft's were living with Richard. John Havercroft b.1830 England, Jane Havercroft b.1815 England and John Havercroft b.1870 Wisconsin. Richard Oglesby had a sister Jane and I suspect she married John Havercroft and they joined Richard in Buckheart but this is all conjecture. If anyone knows of this family I would be grateful for any details. Colin Havercroft Kingston upon Hull, England

Hi, Carla and all-- After my great great grandfather, Nathaniel Bordwine (1799 VA - 1900 IL) lost his first wife, he married Olive, the widow of William McGehee. This happened in Fulton County in 1840. Olive was born in about 1791 in Tennessee or North Carolina. According to their 1843 divorce papers, Nathaniel never could talk Olive into leaving her farm and coming to live with him. In 1844 Nathaniel's daughter married Olive's son, and shortly after that Nathaniel and Olive married again. But again they divorced. She resumed using the McGehee surname. In Nathaniel's obituary Olive is referred to as Olive ACKERSON. I'd love to know more about Olive. Do you know if she married an Ackerson relative of yours in her later years? I am trying to find the parents of Harriet (Nancy) Harris who was born in Zanesville Ohio May 14, 1801 married in Morgan County Ohio on June 21, 1821 to John Shaw. They then went to Fulton County, Ill and lived in Bernadotte until about 1850. John Shaw and Nancy had several children including a Marian Shaw who married a McCumber and Elizabeth who married Nehemiah Northrup. I also am trying to find out when Nehemiah died as Elizabeth was a widow in the 1850 Fulton Cty, Ill. Census. The McCumber guy was James Harvey McCumber (I think) Thanks, Dale -----Original Message----- From: Danni Hopkins [mailto:clueless@clnk.com] Sent: Friday, May 19, 2006 7:11 AM To: ILFULTON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ILFULTON] Roll Call HARRIS, SHAW, DEFORD, NORTHRUP What are some of the first names for the Harris, Shaw and Northrup lines?
