I have no Martin Hixons in my database. What kind of dates, etc. are we talking, here? I have some Hixsons who came from NJ and spent some time in OH between 1829 and 1835, then moved to Montgomery Co., IN. None of mine, however, went to Fulton Co., IL , those were from my mom's side. My husband's family were the Fultonites. I know it's a long shot, but Hixon isn't THAT popular a name and there were other lines that branched off that went who knows where. I have gathered information from my Hixsons back to the late 1700's (Thanks in large part to another Hixson descendent, Richard Brady, who has left a written trail of his research for others to use.) so there COULD be a connection. Danni, do you have any information on the descendants of Horace D. Ball and Rachel Gray. They were in Fulton Co in the 1850s and Horace died in 1864 and then she married Timothy Turner. Ball children were Elijah, Andromeda, Cornelius J., Mary, Margaret Matilda, Ellinor P., Ida B. and Albert D. - all born between 1848 and 1861. Hi I am what is termed a transitory member: Richard Oglesby was a farmer in Buckheart, Fulton. His small holding can be seen on the 1871 Map of Buckheart Township - top row RHS. He appears in the 1860, 1870 & 1880 Censuses. I have no record of his death. He was born in Ulceby by Barton, Lincolnshire, England in 1807. In the 1880 Census a family of Havercroft's were living with Richard. John Havercroft b.1830 England, Jane Havercroft b.1815 England and John Havercroft b.1870 Wisconsin. Richard Oglesby had a sister Jane and I suspect she married John Havercroft and they joined Richard in Buckheart but this is all conjecture. After 1880 it seems the families moved on. I have a William Tanner married Martha Chase on May 9, 1800. I also have a Daniel Tanner, died May 11, 1893 in Fulton County. He married Nancy Chase (her second husband) on November 14, 1833 in Lewiston, Fulton County. Nancy born September 14, 1815 in NY, died February 8, 1895 in Fulton County.
