I'm researching the Peter and Nancy (Gadberry) HARPER family who came to Fulton County from Crawford County about 1843-44. Peter died in 1886, apparently in Crawford County and was buried there at the Good Hope Cemetery. His widow, died in 1892 in Fulton County and is buried at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The following children of Peter and Nancy have connections with Fulton County: James A. Harper, b. Ohio Jan. 31, 1837 m. Mary Ball Oct. 20, 1859 Fulton Co., and died Sep. 17, 1916 Harrison County, Missouri. John, b. Ohio, m. Nancy Bordwine May 14, 1865 and died Apr. 27, 1933 Fulton Co. - burial Mt. There is at least one more son and possibly another -- Francis Marion Harper was born in Ohio and married and died in Crawford Co., IL. Possibly there is a son named David, born 1833 Ohio. Hope to hear from those of you with these families. 3. Well, as far as my guys went, they immigrated in 1854 and 1853 and filled out his "final papers" in the September term of 1859. They would have had to bring four credible witnesses with them to prove that they had lived in the US for "5 years continuously and for more than one year in the state of Illinois" (This was from the paperwork they signed.) If your ggrandfather's last name started with an "L", tell me what it was and maybe it's on the same page as my Landauers. Judy On May 20, 2006, at 1:29 PM, BEARLYCAROL@aol.com wrote: > Thank you. 1. PURDY Researchers
    2. Hello list, Do any of the PURDY researchers have a woman named Joylota who died in 1923? PURDY could be her married name. Joylota Purdy's name and death date was written in my grandmothers bible. I have not been able to find any info on her as to a birth date or even what state she lived in. I have been trying to find out if she is related to my BURR and TREE Michigan lines or if she might hae been a friend of my grandmothers or if she is somehow related to my grandfather BURR. Thanks, Jane
