Can someone tell me what land records are available for Fulton County? My ancestor, Levi Tillman Hise, is in the 1850 census for this county and paid taxes there. Would love to have any land records that might be listed for the Hise name. He is in Missouri in 1860 so the records would be in the latter years of the 1850's. Mary Hise King in CA

Hello everyone Just thought I would discuss Enoch the son of John Kindle whose divorce is being discussed on the Kendall list. My great grandfather was the illegitimate son of Enoch Kindle, son of John, His mother was Mary Ann Ford, dau of William Ford and Sarah "Sallie" Yocum, and he was born Jan 27 1854 near Bryant, Fulton Co IL. He was named John T. Of course in Dec of 1854 Enoch Kindle married Leah O'Brient (O'Bryant). Mary Ann Ford married Jeffrey M Taylor Jul 20, 1858 in Fulton Co IL and John T. took the name of Taylor. John T. married Mary Minerva Shaw in 1876 in Fulton Co. She was descended from Elias, Zachariah, Alexander Shaw and Mary Barclay. Zachariah was the brother of Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Shaw who had been married to John Kindle. My first cousin once removed, Guy Bordner, is the grandson of John T. Ford- Kindle-Taylor. He has told me that his mother, Telsa "Kate" Taylor, said that her father was illegitimate. He has also had contact with George Kindle of OK who said that the family of Enoch and Leah Kindle were aware of their half- brother, John T., so evidently it was fairly common knowledge. "Kate" Taylor also told Guy that her grandmother, Mary Ann Ford would not talk about her family. Was this because of bad feelings over her having an illegitimate child? My grandfather Thurlo Landis often made remarks about my grandmother's family (Mary Marie Taylor dau of John T.) which I did not understand at the time but which upset my grandmother very much and she wouldn't talk about it although at one time she mentioned the name "Kend---" in her family but did not elaborate on it. I wish I had listened more closely. If there are any Kindles, Taylors, or Fords who have any information on John T. and his birth and circumstances, I would be very glad to hear from them. Thanks Judy Hoard
