Bryan, when you're looking up the dozens of requests you're sure to get in the Index to Wills (Fulton Co.), would you check for a Northrup (may be Nehemiah?) who should have died between 1845 and 1850. Thanks so much. We have a McCumber marriage in our line that I thought may be a connection to the inquiry made about a week ago. Jonathan Lock m. Claretta McCumber, Union Co. Ohio, June 9, 1831. This family shows up on the 1840 cencus in Fulton Co, ILL. Also living near or next to them were the heads of household, John, David, Nathan, Charles & Elihu McCumber. Jonathan dies in Fulton Co about 1848, and we have no idea what happened to Claretta or the children. On the 1850 cencus of the same county however, there are a couple of Lock chld living with other families. Could they be chld of Jonathan and Claretta??? Would love to hear from someone on this line. Thanks, Bev (Lockless12@aol.com)
My search has brought me to a Harold D. Haffner who was in Canton at least in the 60's and early '70's, who apparently was married to a Margaret J. Haffner during the 60's. She seemingly worked for Graham Hospital and he worked for Dick's Trucking service....does anyone have either of these people in their research? Any help is always appreciated--at least I've found a husband and some middle initials since last time! Jill

Hi I am looking for information on a McCumber family who lived in the Lewistown area- in the 1840s-1860. I believe they moved to Fulton County from Madison County Ohio Would anyone have any information or connections to this family? Thank You for your time and trouble. Tom Cooper Stuart, Iowa
I am looking for Frederick CHRISTIANER + Jane McMILLEN (McMELLAN). I believe Fred was from Cass County. I also believe that their first child was born in Canton, Fulton Co in 1855. Is anyone researching either name? Thanks, Jack Trauth
Whoops! First, the Samuel and Juda Gillette family in Fulton County. Were they or one of them still there is 1870? Second, Josiah and Amy Richmond in LaSalle County. I think they were there but not sure where. Do you have any 1880 census info? Or any between 1870 and 80? I belive Josiah's parents probably followed them to LaSalle but wuldn't be shown on census because of no children under 10 years old, or something.... Thanks for your offer, Maureen
Evan: Could I impose on you to look up two things?
I found grave of John Franklin Shoemaker at Maryville Cemetery at Bryant. I would like to know if there are other Shoemakers or Trentons buried there. Would appreciate lookup if someone has that book. Also the Cemetery at Lewiston are there any Shoemakers? Thank you. Miriam
I'm stumped! Cannot find a census or other record for WILLIAM PATTERSON and wife SARAH ELZYRA PATTERSON (sister to Elza Magers) in Fulton or Warren Co in the 1860's. Does anyone have the 1860 census for these counties and would be willing to do a look-up for me? I know that William was killed in a boiler explosion at a saw mill in Warren Co. in 1862, and that he left Sarah and 3 children. Any help is appreciated. I have books and other data on Pottawattamie Co. Iowa and would be willing to exchange any look-ups for Fulton Co, IL. Some of the biographies in my 1891 "Biographical History of Pottawattamie Co, Iowa" are for former Fulton Co. residents. Thanks. Mona Sarratt Knight
My quest, in Fulton Co., is to locate my gfather's family. He is Isaac Wilbur DUNCAN (b. 2 May 1872, Fulton Co., Illinois, d. 12 Dec 1947, Castroville, Monterey, California) m Nellie Bell (Nee) WILCOX, 17 Mar 1898, Horton, Brown, Kansas. He was taken back to St. Joseph, Buchanon, Missouri, to be buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery there with quite a few other members of his family. Isaac & Nellie had 6 children. It appears that my gfather's family was in Illinois in the 1870s, when he was born, but moved to Kansas prior to 1898, when he wed. He stayed there until between 1903 & 1905 then moved to St. Joseph, Buchanon, Missouri. My understanding is that the entire family (incl children & their families) eventually moved to Monterey County, California, between 1936 to 1947. Any assist would be greatly appreciated. Pls write me directly at fava@budsters.com . I have additional info on the family of Nellie WILCOX which I have not included here, as well as names & info on all of Isaac & Mary's children. Also some limited decendancy (limited mostly to my personal line) which I would be glad to share. Hope to hear from you soon. Bonnie F. fava@budsters.com
Hi Folks, I am now the proud owner of the Illinois 1870 census index by Heritage Quest. I will be glad to do lookups for people. Happy Hunting! Evan
