Dear Judith, Can you see if any of the following are listed in the Fulton County marriage book? John Ebbert (could be Eppert, Ebert) and Susan Bowser (could be Bouser, Bauser) -- bet. 1851 and 1857 Joseph Ebbert and Amy Elizabeth Brenneman (often spelled Brennaman, Breneman, or misspelled Brennan) -- about 1884. Conrad Endres and Martha Brenneman -- around 1870. (A Conrad Endres was married in McDonough County in 1862, but to a different spouse. It's probably the same person.) These people were all members of the Church of the Brethren. I don't know if they were required to file marriage/civil licenses or not ---?? Thanks for your help. Hope it's not a wild goose chase.

If you have a question-post it to the Fulton County List- Thanks for the answers to my questions. nee = maiden name/born with NR =Not Recorded sic-relates to sp. I decided it means-spelling is correct. ____ For those tracking back to Hunterdon County, NJ. Dennis Sutton has begun posting genealogical info. from the "Hunterdon County Democrat". Thanks Vicki!! That is a valuable tool. I printed it for future reference. Now, I wish someone on our Fulton County list would have the time to do that for Fulton County. I would print that too! : ) Lyde
I am looking for information on Ruth Ann Mills b. 1806 near Cincinnati, Ohio. She married Isaac Hulick about 1829, probably in Ohio or Illinois. They show up in the 1830 census in Fulton Co., and she lived in the area until she died in 1888. She is listed next door to Hope Mills, b. 1813 Ohio, in the 1850 census, who I suspect may be a relation, and she is also living near Abraham Mills and his various family members. Abraham was the executor of Isaac's estate in 1852. Ruth Ann married Jacob Warren in 1853 as Ruth Ann Hulick. I also suspect that there was a connection to the Fosters of Lee and Deerfield Twps through Isaac Hulick's first wife Matilda Foster. Isaac and Matilda's first son was named Zebulon Foster Hulick, b. 1822. Zebulon Foster of Deerfield Twp. married a Catherine Mills in Indiana in 1825. I would appreciate any and all leads on these three names from Lee Twp. I have been knocking my head against this brick wall for over five years. Thanks Joyce Hagerty I
I haven't posted anything for some time, so I thought I'd try again. I'm searching for information on the MINER family from Fulton County. In particular, information regarding Rev. John Francis Miner (my ggg grandfather) who came to the county in around 1830 and died there in 1838. He's buried in Temple Cemetery. We have a good history of this family forward, but are still searching for information on his parents. Thanks! George

Hi, George, Do you have the Temple Cemetery Book ? It contains obituaries along with the cemetery information. Is this your John MINER? "MINER, John, s/o William & Phoebe 'Rachel' WARD MINER, killed at the Battle of Murfreesboro, TN; 31 Dec., 1862, in the 24th year of his age, Co. B, 84 Reg. IL Vol, (Military records show, John MINER, Civil War, Pvt. Army Co. F, IL Inf. d.31 Dec., 1862." I won't copy the rest, as you may have it already, but it covers Emma E, Carrie L,and other children of Wm MINER and Nancy ANDRUS MINER. 'nee' is a term meaning maiden name. 'sic' is Latin for 'thus.' It is used to indicate that an obvious error has been copied faithfully from a quotation or an original.
