    1. [ILFULTON] List Status: No Problems, Just Quiet
    2. Alice Imig Stipak
    3. Hi Everyone, Sorry I have not touched base with you all for too long; I have, however, been working hard "behind the scenes" organizing future additions for our ILFulton website http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilfulton/ Our list has been quiet recently, but no, neither RootsWeb nor our Fulton list seem to be having any problems. Apparently everyone's just busy with the war and taxes. As you can see by forwarding through our ILFulton list, your messages are coming through loud and clear. Please let me know, directly to my email <[email protected]>, if you ever send a message to the ILFulton list and do not see it get distributed, or if you become worried about the status of your list subscription. I suggest that when you are worried about whether the list is working or whether people are getting your messages, that instead of sending out a test message only, you send out a Fulton-related query or info tidbit, at least a list of your research surnames. That would be more interesting than just this-is-a-test-type messages. Let's keep sharing Fulton genealogy! Thanks, and take care, Alice ILGenWeb Fulton County Coordinator and ILFulton List Admin

    1. [ILFULTON] Blanche Nell Hall/ Fulton/Avon
    2. Hello to the Fulton list, I am hoping someone may have information that could help me locate my great Aunt, Blanche N. Hall. I know very little about her. Her maiden name was Blanche N. Wilson, born Feb. 18, 1891 in Illinois (perhaps Schuyler Co). I believe she died in June 1986 in Avon, Illinois. From what I have been able to pick out of her mother's obituary, at that time, she was married to an unknown Payne/Paine, in 1917. At some point, she married an unknown Hall. If anyone has any information on her or where she may be buried, I would appreciate the information and help. I can't seem to locate her in the 1920 census. Thank you, Marsha

    1. [ILFULTON] Re: Spoon River
    2. I found the following at mudcat.org: SPOON RIVER by Michael Peter Smith All of the riverboat gamblers are losing their shirts. All of the brave Union soldier boys sleep in the dirt. But you know and I know there never was reason to hurt, When all of our lives were entwined to begin with here in Spoon River. All of the calico dresses, the gingham and lace, Are up in the attic with grandfather's derringer case. There are words whispered down in the parlor, a shadowy face, The morning is heavy with one more beginning here in Spoon River. Come to the dance, Mary Perkins, I like you right well. The Union's preserved, if you listen you hear all the bells. There must be a heaven, God knows that I've seen mostly hell, My rig is outside, come and ride throught the morning here in Spoon River. "SPOON RIVER". It sounds like a Civil War era tune. She sang it as she recalled the notes. She wrote it out from memory as she found no source. It starts--"All of the riverboat gamblers are losin' their shirts, and all of the brave Union soldier boys stand in the dirt. But you know and I know there never was reason to hurt when all of our lives were entwined to begin with right here in Spoon River" I did a quick look in my Fulton Co. material...and" Spoon River Anthology" finding nothing at a glance. ........ each verse ends with .." here in Spoon River". 3. In 1983 Marjorie Rich Bordner wrote Spoon River, history and festivals : a history of the Spoon River scenic drive fall festival with a history of Fulton County, Illinois, 1818-1983 and genealogical notes. The book's end sheets have the music and words to "Spoon River Waltz." Could that be the song you are looking for? 2. Richard Smith
    3. Lyde, Thank you for such a quick answer to my query for information on George Ebbert. I have just been digging through my many pages of notes and have found that George Ebbert mar Savilla Stonesifer Nov. 26, 1853 Carroll Co. Maryland. That puts him in the same area as John Ebbert of Schulyer Co, and Barbara Ebbert Hare of Schulyer and then Fulton Co. I hope there be will be more clues with his death certificate. Thank you, Barb Smith
