HI, does anyone have the obit of Lewis Quigle b. 29 Aug. 1825 in Clinton Co.Pa and d. 29 April 1863 and is buried in the Virgil Cem. Lee twp .Fulton Co. IL .thanks Joyce
After several years of pulling hair and beginning to think I had lost my marbles, I finally found the tiny note that I had taken when she told me that Grandma Comingore had remarried!!! I had her date of death from other researcher but no one could tell me where that had got it. One aunt told me that Grandma C. died when she (aunt) was pregnant in Spring on 1935 and the funeral was "over in Canton" Grandma C remarried Charles David Nunnally, between 1916 and 1930. Can anyone help find marriage date and possible obit for Charles and Mary Ellen Nunnally? Mary Ellen Nunnally died 19 May 1935 Charles D Nunnally died 7 Nov 1938 I would like to know if Mary Ellen is buried in the Greenview Cemetery. Thanks so much for any help that can be given. If you need help in CA, let me know. Kathy ----------------------------------------------------- Click here for Free Video!! http://www.gohip.com/free_video/
----- Original Message ----- From: Anne Hayes To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, May 22, 2002 7:32 AM Subject: DOCHES Looking for info about the DOCHES (DAUKSAS) family, especially on Michael Joseph DOCHES. He was born 8 October 1916 in Farmington (Fulton Co), IL to Anton and Petronella (KAISER) DOCHES (or DAUKSAS); moved to the Rockford area about 1922-1925; and died 2 March 1969 in Rockford, IL. He had other siblings, however, all their names are unknown at this time. He was shown in the St. Thomas High School's "The Thomist 1932" yearbook as a "Sophomore A", and in the Glee Club; his graduation should have been in 1934 (by today's standards). He entered the US Army from Chicago on 15 Aug 1940 and discharged from Ft. Devens, MA 19 Sept 1945 (NPRC in St. Louis can't find his records, possibly destroyed in their 1973 fire); may have served in the Air Corps in the Pacific Theater. The Rockford City Directories had him listed as working at: Rockford Screw Products between 1936-1940; working at Swedish-American Hospital and residing in Cherry Valley in 1955; working at the Crane Supply warehouse between 1958-1964. A 1969 obit stated that he worked at the local Chrysler Plant (possibly during the early-mid 1950s?). I have a copy of his death record, a faded out birth entry, and entries copied from the Rockford City Directories (1926-1964). I'm stuck with fragments, and any additional leads or sources of information would be appreciated; kindly contact my email [email protected] or the address listed below. Thank you for your help, Mrs. Anne Hayes 1065 Whales Run Ct Virginia Beach, VA 23454

>From a History of Fulton Co., IL. " Amos Shaw enlisted in the 17th Ill Inf, and served about three years,in the war of the Rebellion, died Brownsville, Miss, of lung fever, Mar 21,1863. One of his children, James B. on Section 8, Liverpool, tp. He married Mary E. Eveland in Oct. 1877." My records indicate he was the son of Charles Shaw and Maria Warfield. Now the questions... Who did Amos marry? Were there other children? What happened to un-named wife and children? Betty Bower

Indexed Source: Portrait and Biographical Album of Fulton County, dated 1890 and published by Biographical Publishing Co. of Chicago I am descended from the SISTER of Isaac F. Randolph and am very interested in her parentage which has been a dead end for me for some time. Information from Littells Passaic Valley book appears to be incorrect and this remains a dead end for me. He names a Benjamin F. Randolph as the father of her as well as a brother nearly 50 years older than her. She is Louisa F. Randolph born 1806 in either New Jersey or New York, married 29 March 1826 in Essex County, New Jersey; to John Marsh Crane. They removed for a time to Ohio, but arrived at Trivoli, Peoria County, Illinois about 1836. They had several sets of twins whom I haven't been able to identify. She died in 1887 at the home of her daughter, Marietta "Mary E." (Crane) Newell in Farmington, FULTON County, Illinois. (Mary is wife of Samuel Newell). Could you let me know if the biography of Isaac F. Randolph names his parents and place where he was a child? Thanks so very much for any attention to this, and for being so helpful to us all! Any information about him will be so very helpful to me! Lurose Landers in California

Re. your inquiry about Robert COVERT, the 1860 Illinois Census INDEX shows that a Robert COVERT was living in Fulton County and is listed in Lewistown on page 008 of the census. If someone on the list has access to the actual census, perhaps they can check it for you. A listing for Martha COVERT is also in the index; however, she is shown as living in Effingham County, Elliottstown P. O., page 1105.
