    3. Hi, Hope all is well with you all! Humble thanks go to Fulton County contributors and transcribers! 1. Ron Manroe is helping me put the 85th Infantry book online by transcribing chapters...chapters 26, 29 and 30 are now online. 2. Max Latimer has contributed wonderful glimpses into the past by way of photographs...interesting farm scenes, modes of transportation, etc. These can be viewed in the "Photographs" section. 3. Karen Swegle Holt sent in an excerpt on schools and churches from the 139th Anniversary book about the history of Fairview Township and the village of Fairview. 4. Lynda Derry transcribed biographies of Moses Derry, William F. Derry, William H. Derry and John Derry. 5. Becky Hoerr contributed information about William McLaughlin. 6. Cyndi Meyer submitted a photo of the ladies who worked at the Global Shirt Co. and a postcard of the Parlin-Orendorff factory. 7. Carla Finley submitted a photo of the Shinn's School Reunion. A new section has been put together concerning the Chatsworth train accident which occurred on August 10, 1887. Many people from Fulton County were on the ill-fated train. Special thanks go to Gaile Thomas for transcribing articles for the project and to Max Latimer for submitting a postcard showing the depot used in caring for the injured. http://iltrails.org/fulton/photographs/transportation.html Be sure to check the "Surname" and "Brickwall" sections...these are updated every month... :-) warmest regards, Janine www.iltrails.org/fulton

    1. confusion on John M. Benham
    2. John married Eliza Miller. I have his parents as Aaron and Mary Archer Benham. An old paper in moms things written by CA Rogers in 1975, has his parents as the brother of Aaron, Richard and Catherine Everhart Benham. Several websites also differ and list both set of parents. Who is right? Who are the correct parents? Does anyone know for sure? Carla Finley, Venice, FL My photos: http://community.webshots.com/user/carlafinley

    1. Wm P Hammond burial site
    2. Rick Hammond
    3. Hello all, I am looking for the burial site of William P. Hammond. His first wife, Elizabeth Hill, died between 1850-1852, possibly in Tazewell Co. His 2nd wife was Lucy Hill (or Hull). They both show in the 1870 census for Deerfield Township (near Blyton I believe), as do all of William's children. Both are gone in the 1880 census, but the children still show, which leads me to conclude William and Lucy died in between. Williams children (including another William P.) are buried in Wiley Cemetery. There is no listing for the elder William P. or Lucy in Wiley. Any ideas what cemetery may have been used before Wiley in that area? Thanks. Rick Hammond rickhammond@verizon.net

    3. I found a website about Illinois CCC camps. They were Civilian Conservation Corps camps. Here is the link: http://dnr.state.il.us/orep/nrrc/cultural/ccc/ccc.htm There is some interesting information on the website about why they were started during/after the Depression. Good luck!
