Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home. Survivors include parents, Roy and Shirley Brown of Mount Vernon; wife, Lisa Brown of Mount Vernon; two brothers, Keith Brown and wife, Sharon, and Ross Brown and wife, Debbie; sister, Rorie Palmer and husband, Roger, all of Mount Vernon; two nieces, Felicia Savage of Ina, Emily Palmer of Mount Vernon; nephews, Jim Lynch of Evansville, Ind., Nick Lynch and wife, Amy, of Evansville, Jared Palmer, and Russell Brown and wife, Angela; brother-in-law, Gene Isett and wife, Tonya; mother-in-law, Nona Elliott, all of Mount Vernon; and father-in-law, Richard Isett and wife, Neva, of Salem. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethna and Myrtle McBride and Alonzo and Maggie Brown; sister, Cristi Brown; grandmother, Florence McBride Brown; and his stepfather-in-law, Jackie Paul Elliot. Mony was an area maintenance worker for Motel 6; he played bass and was a vocalist in several local bands, loved fishing and woodworking, was an avid certified SCUBA diver, was a member of the Mount Vernon Gun and Sportsman Club and was of Baptist faith. For those who wish, memorials may be made to National Kidney Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, IL 62864.
